The Powerglove was developed by Nintendo and Mattel,it is worn over
the hand and forearm of the user and connected up to the computer
through a cable. The glove contains sensors that detect the movement
and relative position of the arm and fingers. These signals are
instantly transmitted to the computer where the information would
be translated to the virtual space generated. Cost factors and alleged
patent problems took the Powerglove off the market. However since
then considerably less cumbersome methods of limb immersion in virtual
reality software have been developed, most notably through the use
of low end digital cameras as motion detectors
